To optimize the use of your EMC SAN environment, you need to audit your entire hardware infrastructure on a regular basis. This audit aims at making sure the arrays are fully operational, at foreseeing potential issues, and also at identifying necessary changes to improve their performance. It has always been an expensive and complex process but also a very time-consuming one. However, SAN administrators have recently made their life easier for themselves with SanLife.
SanLife is a script-based software developed by former EMC engineers. It allows a fast, thorough and exhaustive audit of EMC Clariion and VNX arrays. Based on the software its engineers developed, SanLife has built three different offers to meet each client’s unique needs:
SanLife Audit
SanLife Audit is a complete and thorough snapshot of your array that can be performed on a recurrent or one-time basis.
SanLife Analysis
SanLife Analysis is a customized package consisting of Performance Analysis and/or Capacity Planning and/or Billing Analysis. The Analysis can be conducted once or be set up as a recurrent service.
SanLife Interface
SanLife Interface is available to companies with a high need for regular array audits. It gives them an unlimited fast access to all the information provided in the SanLife Audit in addition to extra SAN management tools.
No SAN resembles another SAN. SanLife strongly believes in the necessity of adapting to our customers’ singular needs and environments. We customize our solutions for each and every one of our clients based on the composition and expected evolution of their SAN (i.e. number and type of arrays) as well as on the level of their in-house SAN expertise. In addition to the three software-based solutions, training sessions and SanLife expertise can be added to the package chosen to answer the unique needs of our clients.
